FDA Workshop on Innovation Towards an Artificial Pancreas

Egret Technologies’ personnel were guests at the FDA workshop in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). "Workshop on Innovation Towards an Artificial Pancreas” focusing on newly evolving technologies that will advance development of an artificial pancreas.



At the event, Professor Ed Damiano announced that the FDA had approved his IDE for a 32-patient, five-day-long camp study which will take place this summer in Massachusetts. He noted that the team’s new mobile device, that was developed in a multi-body partnership that included with Egret Technologies, “has increased our productivity by eight or nine fold,” enabling the team to perform more closed-loop experiments in the first eight months of 2013 than in the previous four years combined
