The Egret Technologies’ designed Stackable Optical Module Enclosure (SOME) is a low-cost housing for passive optical components. Its unique design combines a number of functional attributes. Its flexible design enables housing of WDMs, couplers and combinations of passive optical components. The stackable nature of the design facilitates scalable network designer where capital plant is added with increased customer take rate. Its simplicity gives CommScope a cost-effective offering to add to their BOSTM FTTx portfolio.

Coincident with the issuance of the patent, the Broadband Gear Report awarded a coveted 4-diamond award to the BOSTM FTTx product line. This product line has continued to earn awards as new offerings are added since its launch in 2007.
